Asensi assumes the leadership of DPAM Spain, following the successful tenure of Amparo Ruiz Campo, in a natural transition aligned with DPAM’s philosophy of internal promotion, which values talent and commitment to a long-term vision.
Madrid, May 6, 2025 – Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM) today announces the appointment of Víctor Asensi Borillo as the new Country Head for Spain, a key region for the firm where it has consistently expanded its market share and increased client loyalty through robust investment solutions, the support of an agile team, and a business model based on active, sustainable management and research.
Asensi has a track record of more than a decade at DPAM. He joined the firm in 2014 after working at institutions such as Barclays and Macquarie in London. He holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s in Stock Exchange and Financial Markets from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB).
Asensi will take over the role following the retirement of Amparo Ruiz Campo, who, with more than 30 years of experience in the international financial sector, has successfully led the firm locally since 2011. Her pioneering role in the international business development of the firm has been key in positioning DPAM as a benchmark in responsible management.
The promotion of Asensi as head of the office in Spain reflects recognition of his commitment to DPAM and excellence in institutional client service.
Peter de Coensel, CEO of DPAM, reaffirms his commitment to internal talent and the continuation of a strategy focused on responsible growth and leadership in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) investments, stating: “Over all these years, Víctor has demonstrated his commitment to the consolidation and growth of DPAM. This is a natural recognition of his loyalty and dedication in sharing with our clients and partners the DPAM values focused on active, sustainable, and research-based management.”
Tomás Murillo, board member and Director of International Sales at DPAM, states: “Víctor has a deep understanding of this dynamic region and is prepared to continue driving growth in these key markets. We are confident that his leadership will further consolidate our position as a trusted partner for our clients.”
Asensi declares: “It is a privilege to take on this responsibility after the leadership of Amparo Ruiz, with whom I have had the opportunity to work over the past 10 years and position DPAM as one of the leading active managers in Spain. My commitment to our clients will remain the same: to continue offering high-quality and sustainable solutions to our investors, through excellent service and a strong team.”
